Florida Mom Charged With Neglect After Toddler Found Wandering The Streets

A Boynton Beach woman faces a charge of child neglect after her 2 year old son was found wandering along Congress Avenue alone.

A driver called police after finding the boy crossing the street near Gateway Boulevard on Monday afternoon.

Officers went door-to-door in various neighborhoods and put the call out on social media with the child's picture, for information from anyone who may have known his parents.

They eventually found 25-year old Nancy Ineus, who said she works from 6 p.m. to 6 a.m. and was alone at home with the 2-year old and his younger brother. A third child was in kindergarten at the time.

It's believed the little boy was able to get out the front door while his mother was asleep due to a broken security latch. Ineus told police he had done the same thing a couple of weeks ago and that her husband was supposed to fix the latch above the door but never did.

All three of the woman's children are with relatives while DCF investigates.
