Gas Prices Could Spike Thanks To Gulf Of Mexico Storm

Strap in for possible sticker shock at the pump as what's expected to become Tropical storm or Hurricane Barry churns in the Gulf of Mexico. Triple-A Auto Club South spokesman Mark Jenkins says on average Florida drivers are paying 2-dollars-and-64-cents a gallon this week, that's down about 4-cents from last week. But the price could go up by as much as 5-to-10 cents if the storm causes damage or flooding. The most expensive gas is in West Palm Beach, where drivers are paying 2-seventy-two a gallon, the cheapest gas is in Fort Walton Beach where drivers are paying 2-sixty-two a gallon.
