Tamera Mowry’s Niece,18, Among Those Killed By Borderline Gunman

Tamera Mowry has confirmed that her 18-year-old niece Alaina Housley was among those killed by the Thousand Oak’s Borderline Bar & Grill gunman. The actress, who is married to Adam Housley, first contacted one of Alaina’s friends who was with her at the bar, revealing that her niece was still unaccounted for.

She then tweeted that Alaina was indeed one of the 13 and counting victims who died at the scene.

"Our hearts are broken,” her statement read. “We just learned that our Alaina was one of the victims of last night's shooting at Borderline Bar in Thousand Oaks. Alaina was an incredible young woman with so much life ahead of her and we are devastated that her life was cut short in this manner."

Tamera's husband, Adam, went looking for Alaina at a local hospital but a reporter tweeted that guards wouldn't let him in because the hospital was on lockdown. According to the Los Angeles Times, Alaina’s Apple Watch and iPhone also showed her location was still at the bar.

Among the victims are also a handful of college students who were at the bar line dancing and enjoying themselves. A sheriff's sergeant, Deputy Sgt. Ron Heluswho was on the verge of retirement, was also killed in the tragic shooting.

According to multiple reports, the gunman has been identified as army veteran 28-year-old Ian David Long. After opening fire on the bar, Long shot and killed himself.

Our thoughts and prayers go out to all those affected and the victims’ families and friends.
