Gov. Scott Expanding Operation Blue Roof To Help Floridians Patch Roofs

Governor Rick Scott is expediting the delivery of tarps to help residents throughout the state patch roofs in the wake of Hurricane Irma.

Scott is directing the state's division of Emergency Management to get a delivery of more than 10,000 tarps pushed through immediately so that residents can finish patching their roofs across the state.

FEMA has already enacted their program Operation Blue Roof which supplies homeowners with Tarps through a federal program, but it is still getting organized throughout the community.

The motion provides a temporary covering of blue plastic sheeting at no cost to homeowners in eligible counties until permanent repairs can be made.

The action ordered by Scott aims to mitigate and prevent additional water and rain damage to homes impacted by Hurricane Irma until the federal Operation Blue Roof program is fully operational.
